“Malakoff Diggins State Historic Park is a state park unit preserving Malakoff Diggins, the largest hydraulic mining site in California. The mine was one of several hydraulic mining sites at the center of the 1882 landmark case Woodruff v.”

March 2016FloodNorth Bloomfield-Four people were rescued Sunday morning after their vehicles were swept away in Greenhorn Creek in Nevada County when they attempted to cross a flooded roadway (Lower Greenhorn Road) that crosses over Greenhorn Creek.||Early Sunday morning, the Nevada County Sheriffs Office Search and Rescue team was called to the creek.||Two teams were dispatched to the river where they found four people located on the left bank of the river awaiting rescue.
