Population over time
2 figuresEllsworth fell from 195 to 184 between 2010 and 2020. These are the recorded population figures Wikidata holds for this place, reached through the Geographic Names Information System number this page is keyed on rather than by name, so they belong to this place and not to another of the same name. Most are census counts, but not all are: an early figure may be a founding or settlement estimate, and an estimate published within five years of a census is left out. The change column is computed, and is left blank where more than 20 years separate a figure from the one before it, because a gap that long is not a change between two counts.

1 since 2013Regional context, not property-specific evidence. The federal wildfire occurrence database lists 1 fire within 5 miles of Ellsworth in 2013, burning about 1 acre in total. None started naturally. None was recorded as arson. Distance is straight-line from the map coordinates, so a fire counted here may appear on a neighbouring settlement's page as well.

Storms near this place
3 since 1998Regional context, not property-specific evidence. The National Weather Service names Ellsworth in 3 storm reports between 1998 and 2010: 1 flash flood, 1 tornado, 1 thunderstorm wind. No death or injury is recorded in these reports. Each account below is quoted exactly as the forecast office filed it, from the NOAA Storm Events Database, and each date opens the federal record of that event.
| When | Event | Place named | Harm | What the report says |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| April 1998 | Tornado (F0) | Ellsworth | $35,000 | A tornado touched down 2 miles west southwest of Ellsworth. It uprooted one 2 foot diameter tree and broke off two others several feet above the ground. One of the trees fell across the front porch of a house and onto a nearby shed, destroying both. A garage behind the house was destroyed with debris carried 300 yards out onto an adjacent field. Also, a few windows were blown out and some shingles were blown off of the house. As the tornado travelled north northeast, it picked up a 20 foot by 20 foot section of a tin barn roof and carried it to the west about 20 feet. From there the tornado skipped along the path with only spotty damage. A 2 foot diameter tree was broken off several feet above the base 1 mile northwest of Ellsworth before the tornado lifted and dissipated. No injuries were reported and damage was estimated around $35,000. |
| June 2010 | Thunderstorm Wind | Ellsworth | $10,000 | Power lines were blown down at Moraine View State Park. |
| April 1998 | Flash Flood | Ellsworth | - | no account filed |
