Population over time

2 figures

Mooresville grew from 91 to 98 between 2010 and 2020. These are the recorded population figures Wikidata holds for this place, reached through the Geographic Names Information System number this page is keyed on rather than by name, so they belong to this place and not to another of the same name. Most are census counts, but not all are: an early figure may be a founding or settlement estimate, and an estimate published within five years of a census is left out. The change column is computed, and is left blank where more than 20 years separate a figure from the one before it, because a gap that long is not a change between two counts.

Past and Present of Livingston County, Missouri : a Record of Settlement, Organization, Progress and Achievement, published 1913 names this settlement in its chapter on Mooresville Township. These are the passages that mention it, exactly as the scans read.

Lying south of the west branch of Grand river is township 57, range 25, and together with fractional parts of sections 31 and 32 in 58-25 comprise the township of Mooresville. Some of the best farms in Livingston county are found in the south central and southeast portions, while the northern section of the township adjacent to Grand river is considerably broken, but heavily timbered. Limestone is found in abundance in the broken and hilly section of the county. Bituminous coal of an excellent quality is also found in this township, an extended report of which may be found in the geological department of this work. The first settlements were made in 1833 ^^^ among the early pioneers were the Hudginses, Tomlins, Woolseys, McCoskries and their descendants. Among the later comers were the Fisks, Manns, Fields, Lawsons,
