|---|---|---|---|---|
| June 2010 | Flood | Meadow | $75,000 | Rainfall of at least 3 to 5 inches fell over much central Nebraska the week ending 7am 6/12, with additional heavy rains the following several days. All of this water eventually worked into the Platte River causing it to rise above flood stage from around North Bend downstream to its confluence with the Missouri River. At Louisville the river was above its 9 foot flood stage for most of the period from the afternoon of 6/11 until the afternoon of 6/16. The river crested at a little under 10.5 feet around noon on the 14th. The river gauge near Ashland was above its 20 foot flood stage for much of the period from the evening of 6/11 until the evening of the 20th. Although some lowlands were flooded all along the Platte River in Sarpy county, which forced evacuations of residents of Hanson's Lakes, most of the more significant flooding was restricted to the area near confluence of the Missouri River around Plattsmouth. County roads and some recreation areas in that vicinity sustained flood damage. |
| June 2018 | Thunderstorm Wind | Meadow | - | A home weather station located approximately 3 miles north of South Bend recorded a 59 mph wind gust. |
| May 2017 | Hail | Meadow | - | Quarter size hail reported at the Flying J Truck Stop. |
| April 2012 | Tornado (EF1) | Meadow | - | This tornado first touched down about a mile northwest of South Bend in Cass county, crossed the Platte River and then lifted in Sarpy county about 2 miles north northeast of South Bend. The tornado caused tree and outbuilding damage along its path. |
| June 2008 | Flood | Meadow | - | This flooding event continued over from May 31st. Heavy rainfall during the evening of May 29th culminated nearly a week of scattered heavy rain producing thunderstorms that occurred along the Platte River basin. The heavy rains caused the Platte River to flood from just northeast of Ashland downstream through the Louisville area then to its mouth with the Missouri River near Plattsmouth. The Platte River reached a crest of 21.1 at Ashland around 9am CDT on May 31st, flood stage is 20 feet. The river crested at 10.6 feet at Louisville around 1pm on May 31st, flood stage is 9 feet. The river fell below flood stage at both points during the afternoon of June 1. The flooding forced some evacuations near Beacon View and Linoma Beach, closed a few county roads in the area and spread into surrounding farmland. |
