Parmelee who extended the one and a half story section essentially duplicate those on the original structure. Parmelee was also responsible of the recessed porch was converted to use as a small solarium.
Aside from this change, the house is essentially intact as shown in the 1880 photograph. Restoration to the house to date consists of replacement of some window frames, some interior and exterior doors, and repair/replacement of some exterior moldings due to Revival structures in the area. The interior arrangement is generally old or original, with most interior walls appearing to date from the original structure or the 1856 addition. Interior details and moldings are quite simple. The original painting and graining of the woodwork remains only in areas of the 1856 and 1870 additions. unexposed Condition addition was completed circa 1870 and is documented in a Parmelee family photograph 7.

Statement of significance

(in one paragraph) The historical significance of this property is based on its association with the Parmelee family from 1856 to 1900. The Parmelee family were early settlers, principal landowners and major industrialists in the Liverpool (Valley City), Ohio area, The house is also of architectural significance having survived in generally original Originally built by George Goller in 1852, the house was obtained by Ashel S. Parmelee prominence as principal landowners and major, early industrialists. "Ashel Parmelee The offices for the mill were located directly east of the house across what is now at the mill, was produced by itinerant weavers who set up their looms in a large, open room on the second floor of the center section of the house.
