Description - unaltered X good May 10, 1980 _ moved date tuated by the strong gable returns, the stone chimneys on the center of each gable, retain the original six over six double hung sash and have flush lintels and plain are 4 doors in the front of the building, two on the ground floor and two directly which appear to be original, however, some panels have been replaced by glass. The first living area door was originally a window. When they built the second part of the wooden structure off the kitchen, a window was removed and made into a door while are featured in each end gable. The interior features narrow planked boards, plastered walls, intricately carved ruins unexposed excellent and the nearly symmetry of the entire architectural composition.Most of the windows fence blends in with the surrounding scenic farmland.

Statement of significance

(in one paragraph) crafted large rectangular stone blocks which cover the entire exterior. The interior guished by its unusual plan, which features eight exterior doors on two levels, and Cuthbert Milligan emigrated to Ohio from Harding County, Virginia in 1815. He purchased a section of land in nearby Keene township. The Milligan family lived in a log cabin during the construction of the stone house which was begun in 1828 and completed in 1830. John C. Milligan, one of their 12 children was given a part of himself by serving in the Civil War, re-enlisting, and joining Sherman on his march to the sea. He filled a number of township positions, was a member of the Board of Ed- ucation, and the justice of the peace in Keene Township.
