He was responsible for the majority of the civil engineering done in Clinton for a period of several years after that. Also an architect, he drew Plans Ior many of the buildings which were erected in the town during the latter half of the nineteenth century. In 1858 he became a justice of the peace. Little else is known about his life. The school was eventually named for Rev. C.M.
