Indians' loyalty during the War of 1812. Until the removal of left, the two mills, and later the present structure, were owned by such action by the U.S. government. George Myers, who purchased the mills after the Wyandots left, dismantled the old gristmill and bought the present gristmill site of two acres, and his family the U.S, Government.
