SOUTHERN HALF OF THE COUNTY SUSTAINED THE WORST FLOODING. MANY RURAL COUNTY ROADS WERE WASHED OUT TO SOME DEGREE WITH EXTENSIVE DAMAGE TO LOWLAND AGRICULTURAL FARM FIELDS.
Emergency management officials reported uprooted trees and power lines down in and around Napoleon. A work trailer flipped over and was blown onto Scott Street. A tree fell onto a house on Oakwood Avenue.
A trained spotter reported roof fascia ripped off, as well as shingles off a store front roof. Some minor structural damage was noted to the roof as well.
Emergency management officials reported widespread, significant wind damage across the county. Three utility trailers were pushed across the parking lot at the Emergency Operations Center.

When this property was proposed for the
National Register, someone wrote the case for it: what the building is,
and why it matters. That document is a federal record in the public domain.
It is quoted below word for word, never summarised. The text was read off the scanned case file by machine, so the
occasional stray character is the recogniser's and the 1970s
typewriter's.
Statement of significance
necessary public offices. This was not until 1834. Its county seat was fixed at Napoleon. The 1st courthouse was in the second floor of a log addition to to the county. By 1844 there was sufficient funds to build a frame courthouse at the corner of Perry & Washington Streets. It was built at a cost of $2,000 and, unfortunately, burned to the ground in 1847. All county records were lost. The donation of land in 1849 lead to the building of a new courthouse and a separate building to house the jail. The small brick structure with its impressive entrance of white pillars, bell tower and spire, was also destroyed by fire about 1878. Karst and William Woodruff completed the building in 1882.
