When this property was proposed for the
National Register, someone wrote the case for it: what the building is,
and why it matters. That document is a federal record in the public domain.

Statement of significance
John Harris, a native of Pompey, New York, migrated to a Cincinnati suburb, Madison, in 1819. Here he practiced medicine with dentistry as County, a small village of Virginia settlers in the fertile Paint Creek Harris operated his school for less than 5 years, closing its doors in 1830. In that short period, however, Harris trained a number of students who would become, because of their special instruction in dentistry under Chief among these students were Chapin A. Harris, brother of the teacher, known dental college, the Ohio College of Dental Surgery at Cincinnati Dr. Edward C.

American Journal of Dental Surgery;James Taylor who founded the second founded on the North American continent trace their origins back to in 1845; and John Allen who perfected porcelain dental work and invented that he was ready to instruct medical students to prepare them for college the little brick building in Bainbridge which housed so briefly the Harris school.This effort resulted in a resolution adopted by the the Ohio Dental Journal. Valley where he advertised on November 1,1825 in a Chillicothe newspaper Art Harris, pioneers in establishing dentistry as an independent profession.
