Penny to hen egg sized hail was observed for several minutes in Mentor. Much of the hail was golf ball sized or larger. This resulted in many vehicles being damaged.
A weak tornado moved inland from Lake Erie and was on the ground in Mentor for a little less than one mile. Many trees were knocked down with a few homes sustaining minor damage.
A portion of Interstate 90, a main throughway, was closed between State Route 306 and State Route 615 due to flooding. Several disabled semi trucks that stalled in high water.
Thunderstorm winds tore some siding off of a house near the intersection of Center Street and Mentor Avenue in Mentor. Some tree limbs were also down in the area.

Description of the property
freer behind where additions were made by Abraham Garfield, the architect son of left and central bays have single, tall windows on the first and second floors. The Above the facade pilasters are an entablature, frieze cornice, and gable roof. A the pilasters and their entablature are in a forward plane, the moldings of which tongue and groove paneling. The right side and left side elevations have the same entablature, frieze, and cornice running their full lengths, including the sides of the projecting porches. The additions. CONDITION EXCELLENT UNEXPOSED UNALTERED FAIR XGOOD is simple and rectilinear.The upper floor is partitioned into smaller spaces.
CHECK ONE right hand porch is supported by four Doric columns and has a second story railing return to and then along a second plane some four inches behind.The pilasters are stairs are decorated with scrolls and squares.The woodwork around doors and windows The facade is quite tall with four Doric pilasters dividing it into three bays.The President James Garfield. The rear extremities have experienced some even later supported by monolithic stone piers. The facade is composed entirely of flush and an entablature with small pointed dentils.Sidelights flank the paneled door.
Interior: The interior now consists of a small room on the left side as one enters, with lathe turned balusters.There is a fanlight inside the pediment and a fanlight This structure has avery conservative facade dating from c.1835,but becomes side porch is enclosed on the second floor but is open between short columns on near the facade and to the left of the left side porch. The left right hand bay has a window on the second floor and the entry doorway on the first DATE floor. The basic plan is a Latin cross with the arms of the cross becoming two-story porches.
The structure was built for James Mason, a Cleveland lawyer. Its significance of numerous buildings characterized by their unusual character, both in design The facade suggests the influence of Jonathan Goldsmith. The details, such as Charles Wallace Heard, later a prominent architect in Cleveland, and Goldsmith's 1700-1799 1500-1599 INVENTION CONSERVATION ARCHEOLOGY-HISTORIC ART 1400-1499 ECONOMICS PERIOD XARCHITECTURE AGRICULTURE THEATER SCULPTURE RELIGION and construction.
PREHISTORIC SCIENCE SIGNIFICANCE ARCHEOLOGY-PREHISTORIC MILITARY BUILDER/ARCHITECT INDUSTRY _POLITICS/GOVERNMENT MUSIC _ENGINEERING the transmission of Goldsmith's skills to other designers and builders in the _COMMUNICATIONS as well conceived and carried out as in the prominent structures in the area known _EXPLORATION/SETTLEMENT resides in its possible connection with Johanthan Goldsmith, an Ohio architect important part of this streetscape.
