Penny to hen egg sized hail was observed for several minutes in Mentor. Much of the hail was golf ball sized or larger. This resulted in many vehicles being damaged.
A weak tornado moved inland from Lake Erie and was on the ground in Mentor for a little less than one mile. Many trees were knocked down with a few homes sustaining minor damage.
A portion of Interstate 90, a main throughway, was closed between State Route 306 and State Route 615 due to flooding. Several disabled semi trucks that stalled in high water.
Thunderstorm winds tore some siding off of a house near the intersection of Center Street and Mentor Avenue in Mentor. Some tree limbs were also down in the area.

Description of the property
The depot building is brick & stone, rectangular in plan and measures UNEXPOSED room. CONDITION UNALTERED DETERIORATED XALTERED FAIR CHECK ONE south end is the men's waiting room; the north end is the women's waiting canopy is supported by regularly spaced wood braces on stone corbels.On The remaining surface of the building is hard fired face brick.A stone the northwest side a high pitched gable with paired rectangular windows is the belt course. The north end has three rectangular windows with semi- placed above the projecting bay.
The ticket office and telegraph room face the tracks in the projecting a doorway, the other bays have rectangular windows.Above each is a rectangular Across the tracks is the freight house.It is also rectangular in plan but The southeast side follows the same design except for the center bay and light in the gable. X.EXCELLENT A gently curved slate hip roof sweeps out beyond the walls 7'.The overhang transom light.Each of the transom lights have diamond-shaped leaded panes. belt course of 8' width circumscribes the building at lintel height and ofthe building has a tall garage door;a:recent alteration.The north end end there is a small doorway and widow,-both segmental arched.
