One of the gayest watch parties in Circleville Saturday night was held at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Elmer Clif­ ton, on North Court street. The New Year was welcomed by radio and with i D. Doddroe, son of Mr .and Mrs. H. R. Doddroe of Blacklick, at the home 1 of the officiating minister, the Rev. j T. M. Ricketts, of Ashville, Ohio. The bride was graduated from Ga­ hanna High school with the class of 1919 and has been employed by the Belle Telephone Company there. Mr. and Mrs. Doddroe will live near Gaj hanna, where Mr. Doddroe is engaged j in farming.

Saturday. Miss Mary Ellen Phillips returned to Columbus Business and Training School, Tuesday morning. Theodore Goeller, w'ho is a student at Colorado College, at Colorado j Springs, Colo., returned Tuesday j evening after spending the Christmas vacation with his father, Mr. John ! C. Goeller. Norman Aronson has returned to | Ada, Ohio, wdiere he is a student at Ohio Northern University. Air. and Airs. Robert H. Bates left Alonday night for Norfolk, Va., j where they will spend several w'e'eks as guests of his sister, Mrs. John F. Small. In their absence Aliss May Lowre will have charge of the print­ ing office. ' Air. and Mrs. H. C. Stoker and daughter, Harriet, of Columbus, were guests of Mrs. Stoker's parents, Mr. and Mrs. Robert Gearhart, for the New' Year holidays. Miss Helen Skeele, of Columbus, a former teacher in the Circleville high ! school, visited friends here Saturday and Sunday. Mr. and Airs. Donald Smith, of To­ ledo, wdio have been the guests of Col .and Airs. C. E. Groce, have re­ turned to their home. Air. Guy Culp left Tuesday for Chicago, to attend the furniture m ar­ ket, where he is showing one hundred living room suites made by the E. AI. Hulse Co. Aliss Elsie Jew'ell, of Akron, who has been the guest of Miss Dorothy Ale Arthur, left Alonday for her home. Mr. and Mrs. W. C. Mead and son, i William Jr. ,and daughter, Mary Al­ ice, of Mansfield, are guests of his and her parents, Air. and Airs. Charles G. Mead and Air. and Airs. H. S. Hulse. Mrs. Flora Watson and daughter, Mrs. Alerle Lane, spent Sunday w'ith Mrs. Alary Jones, in Columbus. Airs. Alary Morris spent Sunday with her son, Albert Alorris and w'ife. 1 Aliss Alary L. Walters, who has been spending the holidays the guest of her parents, Air. and Mrs. John Walters, and Aliss Beatrice Hosier, daughter of Air. and Mrs. S. T. Hosier of Walnut street, left Tuesday for Delaware, to resume their studies at the Ohio Wesleyan university. Miss Alice Adah May leaves Wednesday for Baltimore, Aid., to re­ enter Goucher college for women. I. A. Jones, of East Franklin street, is ill with pneumonia.

October 1999Tornado (F3)Circleville6 hurt, $4,000,000A tornado touched down west of Circleville, pulling a small shed off of its foundation and destroying a section of a construction building. after this, the tornado lifted and then touched down in a more developed area in town. It destroyed a building housing two businesses and ripped the roof off of a section of a strip mall, ejecting furniture from inside the structure. A large sign weighing several hundred pounds was ripped from its foundation and blown twenty feet away. A tractor trailer with a load of 18 to 19 tons was blown over and dragged ten feet away from where it landed. The tornado then proceeded to a housing development where several homes were destroyed, several roofs ripped off, and garages either destroyed or moved from their foundations. Trees were twisted and broken off at their bases and carports were also torn from nearby houses.

August 2006Tornado (F0)Circleville$250,000A tornado touched down along State Route 361, causing damage to three buildings at the Pickaway Machine and Fabricating Company. Portions of the aluminum roofing and insulation were removed from these three buildings, and deposited throughout the complex and in a cornfield across Route 361. Corn stalks at six to eight feet in height were knocked over in a 150 foot wide swath across this cornfield, extending for a mile to the northeast to Boggs Road. Across Boggs Road, minor tree and limb damage occurred, with part of an open air aluminum shed being blown into a nearby tree line.
