“Stevens Warren Flower, late a highly respected and influential citizen of Toledo, at one time a resident of Maumee, a gallant soldier in the great Civil war, and for many years an active and prominent figure in commercial and religious circles in the county, was a native of the old Empire State, having first beheld the light of day in the town of Clayton, Jefferson county, New York, Aug. 21, 1832. He was descended of highly honorable ancestry.”

In 1850 he entered into a professional partnership with H. B. Curtis, of Mt. Vernon, which continued for nineteen years, when Mr. Scribner removed to Toledo and became associated with the late Frank H. Hurd. Prior to this Mr. Scribner had been elected a member of the Ohio Senate from the district comprising Holmes, Wayne, Knox and Morrow counties, and while there he was chair¬ man of the Judiciary Committee. In the Senate he introduced the Criminal Code prepared by Frank H. Hurd, his predecessor in the Senate, and himself prepared the Municipal Code of the State.

Judge Scribner was married Oct. 20, 1847, to Miss Mary E. Morehouse, of Homer, Ohio, and was the father of four daughters and four sons, the eldest of whom became his business partner, in 1871, and is still a well known member of the Toledo bar.

Several seasonal and year round properties need to be elevated due to repeated flooding this year.

Flooding was reported on dozens of streets and highways including Interstate 475. Many roads had to be closed because of flood waters two to three deep. Many vehicles became stranded in the flood waters and several people had to rescued. Hundreds of homes sustained damage, mainly from basement flooding.

Description of the property

and one-half and two-story frame and brick homes characterize the area with occassional 'corner Colonial Revival, in mostly vernacular expressions. Houses are generally set close to each the south and east and is defined by major arteries, Cherry St. and Lagrange St. on the west by a brick bed molding. It is a good example of a brick corbelled cornice. The roof on the the center mass projects slightly to the south behind the front section, the projected portion 14l3 Walnut is a two story, brick structure, comprised of two offset brick masses, adjoined by The interior has undergone numerous remodelling, but retains much of its original woodwork, and north.The subject property stands in the southwestern section of the neighborhood.
An end panel, covering the space where the porch roof meets the house (on north elevation) has lunette infilled with similar spoke-like spindles in the peak.The underside of the porch has an entrance on either side elevation and numerous six over six sash.Itis partially The sidelights and transom are divided into small rectanglesof bevelled glass(also likely an alteration).To the north of the entrance AREAS OF
