The James Wallace Barn is part of a significant complex of structures representing the entrepreneurial contributions of the Wallace family in the Cuyahoga Valley. Description : Standing approximately 20 feet west of the Wallace house, the two-story barn measures 16' x 32' and stands on a sandstone foundation. The walls are made of 4"-wide poplar clapboard siding, which covers a frame constructed of 8" x 8" hand-hewn oak beams. The gable roof is covered with sawn wood shingles which are nailed on to 4" x 4" hand-hewn oak rafters. History : The barn was constructed circa Source : Hamilton, Chester V. Wallace Farm .
