Regional context, not property-specific evidence. The National Weather Service names Roddy in 4 storm reports between 2010 and 2022: 2 thunderstorm wind, 1 flash flood, 1 tornado. No death or injury is recorded in these reports. Each account below is quoted exactly as the forecast office filed it, from the NOAA Storm Events Database, and each date opens the federal record of that event.

WhenEvent Place namedHarm What the report says
April 2011Thunderstorm WindRoddy$800,000Nearly 100 homes and several outbuildings were damaged across mainly the southern half of Van Zandt County from two strong supercells. These homes were damaged by either a tornado in the same region, damaging downburst winds, and/or RFD winds. It cannot be determined how many of the homes were damaged by the tornado and how many by the RFD or downburst winds. In addition, numerous trees were also knocked down and several were blocking roadways. Power lines were also down as well.
May 2019Tornado (EF2)Roddy$500,000A tornado developed near the community of Whitton, then moved northeast, damaging several homes in its path. The most extensive damage was found on Van Zandt CR 2502 and Van Zandt CR 2501, where the EF-2 determination was made. Homes experienced significant roof loss, and a manufactured home was destroyed and tossed well away from its foundation. The tornado then continued moving northeast, easily traceable from continuous tree damage along its path. This tornado then occluded and dissipated as it approached the City of Canton. Maximum winds with the tornado were estimated at 125 mph.
June 2010Flash FloodRoddy$50,000Farm-to-Market Road 47 was underwater one mile north of Highway 198, County Road 308 was washed away two miles east of Highway 198, and Farm-to-Market Road 316 was closed due to high water at the intersection of Highway 198.
April 2022Thunderstorm WindRoddy$20,000Ground survey and radar analysis indicated straight-line winds along a bowing segment caused a long swath of 75-85 mph winds across southeastern Van Zandt County. In this area, trees were damaged, metal structures/barns were damaged or destroyed, & the roofs of some homes were damaged. The damage swath was approximately 1.75-2.5 miles wide across the center line of this entry.
