The cabin is part of the Copper Globe Mine, an early twentieth- century copper mine that exists in an area better known for Cold War-era uranium mining. Description: The wooden cabin measures approximately 20 x 20 . The cabin, facing north- northeast, is partially to completely underground with only the front exposed. The building is carved into rock and dirt, and supported by wood beams. A small fireplace and chimney are at the rear of the cabin carved into the rock. Three small windows exist, one on each of the north-northeast, east-northeast, and west-southwest sides. The roof is made of plywood and covered in gravel. Jesse and Conn Fugate, from Ferron, Utah, were the original miners at the site.

Because Ferron was approximately sixty rough miles from the mine, the Fugates, most likely traveling by horse, stayed at the cabin for long periods.
