The National Weather Service names Belforest in 10 storm reports between 1999 and 2025: 6 thunderstorm wind, 2 lightning, 1 flash flood, 1 tornado. No death or injury is recorded in these reports. Each account below is quoted exactly as the forecast office filed it, from the NOAA Storm Events Database, and each date opens the federal record of that event.
| When | Event | Place named | Harm | What the report says |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| January 2017 | Flash Flood | Belforest | $600,000 | Significant flash flooding occurred, especially in the Foley area, due to 5 to 7 inches of rain falling the span of only a couple of hours. A water rescue had to be performed on Fernwood Circle due to the rapid rise of Sandy Creek. Numerous roads in the central and southern half of the county were flooded and closed, with several sustaining damage due to the flooding. |
| May 2007 | Lightning | Belforest | $60,000 | Lightning struck 3 houses, one of which was occupied. The other two houses were empty and for sale. The houses suffered significant smoke and water damage. No one was injured. |

| January 2024 | Tornado (EF0) | Belforest | - | An EF0 tornado touched down near Dick Higbee Road on the south side of the St. Michael Catholic High School where multiple trees were uprooted in a convergent pattern. It is possible the tornado touched down sooner in the adjacent field, however the next surveyable location to the west on Highway 181 did not have any visible damage. The tornado continued east from the high school causing a discontinuous path of damage including large tree limbs broken off. Any semblance of a discontinuous path disappears to the east of County Road 55 near Woodpecker Road, and the tornado end point was set at this location. The tornado was small, only peaking at around 20 yards in width with a peak wind speed of 75mph and path length of 5.09 miles. |
