Named in the 1906 county history

The history of Pickaway County was published 13 years after the first of these atlases, and it names this establishment.

Of the ten children born to his parents, Jerome is sixth in order of birth. He received a common education in the district schools and from the time he was a small boy he was in the blacksmith shop and thus picked up the trade. When fourteen 3'ears of age, he made a hand at the anvil, but previous to that, wlien onl^' ten 3'ears of age, he shod horses. At the age of twenty-one, or in 1877, he went to Lancaster and was emplo3'ed in a carriage shop there for three 3'ears. Returning to Walnut Township, he was with his fatlier for over five years and was his partner for a year. Seeing a better opportunity to succeed in his trade, he came to Circleville and started a shop near the Cleveland, Marietta it Oliio depot.
