West Muhammad Ali Boulevard is significant within the context of the Russell National Register District which was listed in This structure is typical of shotgun houses that were built throughout this particular neighborhood (as well as throughout Louisville) during the late and early centuries. Houses with this floor plan were routinely built for the common man as worker housing. A variety of architectural ornamentation reflecting popular Victorian era styles were often applied to shotgun houses. The Italianate was among the styles most commonly used in the Russell District. Description: West Muhammad Ali Boulevard is a single-story wood frame residence constructed in the Italianate style. It has a shotgun floor plan.

A one-story porch with stucco piers and a hipped-roof spans the primary facade. It appears to be an addition. The main house has a three-bay facade division. The door to the east was originally flanked by two windows to the west. However, these windows have been covered with non-original multi-panelled doors. A cornice with dentils and a hipped- roof with asphalt shingle completes the building. History: Although the exact date of construction for this building is unknown because building construction records are not extant, it probably dates from circa According to City Directories this structure was first occupied in by George G. Long, a laborer. Long lived at this address until Source: Caron's Directory of the City of Louisville.
