The winds were accompanied by hail up to golf-ball size. The combination of wind and hail damaged crops west of Cedar Bluffs with trees and crops severely damaged from Cedar Bluffs to Woodcliff. A boyscout camp hosting about 1,000 people north of Cedar Bluffs was hit, seriously injuring one parent when a tree fell on him. Center pivots were also flipped from west of Cedar Bluffs east to the county line and some farm outbuilding damage was noted. A semi was flipped on Highway 77 a few miles south of Fremont. In the Woodcliff area the winds appeared to have been the strongest with several boats and boat lifts flipped and many homes sustained damage due to fallen trees. In addition to the tree and subsequent home damage by fallen trees, the wind whipped hail caused additional damage to siding, roofs and vehicles. Around 160 of the 440 homes in the Woodcliff area sustained damage. It was estimated that around 35,000 acres of crops were destroyed in Saunders county, with the plants virtually shredded to the ground in some areas.

March 2019FloodWann$52,300,000This is for flooding along the Platte River. The river gage at Ashland, operated by the USGS, peaked at 24.35 feet at 7 am on March 16th. Minor flood stage is 20 feet, moderate flood stage is 22 feet while major flood stage is 26 feet. Preliminary this peak is the highest on record. Ice jamming also played a role in the flooding at this location. The net effect of this flooding was overwhelmed by the high water that immediately proceeded any river ice movement. This gage was also impacted by levee breaches all along this portion of the Platte River. Damages are based on an estimate from the Army Corps of Engineers Omaha District. This dollar amount also takes into account the substantial damage that occurred at Camp Ashland. In addition, many lake communities were substantially damaged or destroyed by the flood.

In Yutan, public reports indicated damaging winds, estimated as high as 90 to 100 mph, causing widespread tree and powerline damage and tilting power poles into the road. Near Leshara, estimated 90 mph winds caused structural damage including broken home windows and extensive tree damage. In Mead, emergency management confirmed a porch roof was torn off by an estimated 90 mph wind. Earlier in the event, winds estimated around 70-80 mph uprooted a large tree and caused shed roof damage in Memphis.||Additional, lesser wind gusts were measured by public weather stations across the area, ranging from 60 mph to 67 mph. The estimated property damage to public infrastructure from this event is $1,221,581.00. This figure reflects only the costs associated with repairing public assets and does not account for the extensive damage sustained by private and commercial properties throughout Saline County.

As such, this heavy upstream rain in addition to one to two inches of additional rain that fell across Saunders county resulted in the Platte River reaching flood stage. The Platte near the intersection of Dodge, Douglas and Saunders counties crested at 1:15 CDT at 11.89 feet. Flood stage at this portion of the river is 11.0 feet. Flooding was also observed at the Lashara and Venice river gauges, both cresting at 8.6 feet and 15.64 feet respectively. Their respective flood stages are 8.0 feet and 15.5 feet.
