Follow- ing his completion of school, Dr. Blocksom returned to his home town and practiced after having been spurned by Blocksom's sister, Ella. George Washington Blocksom Mrs.
Blocksom's death in 1904, the house passed to Alice Blocksom Widney, the daughter and operated the Bloçksom Drug Store, Following Mr.Widney's death in 1918, his daughter, Margaret, and her husband, Frank Rolls lived in the house with the Widney Rolls died in 1949 and her husband in 1966. Until 1972 the home was owned and occupied by Alice Rolls Brown and her husband James and their family. In 1972 The Blocksom-Rolls House stands today as a prime example of this transitional style of architecture in the City of Zanesville.
