Further Description of Important Features This is a building whose vertical structure is clearly expressed by the pronounced brick piers of the main shaft. The lower stories are enhanced by horizontal bands of ornament, and the upper story by lavish terra cotta ornament in the Beaux-Arts idiom, with octagonal oculi, swags, dentils and anthemia. Rare combination of Sullivanesque treatment with Beaux-Arts. 43. History and Significance 44.
