At present, Bradford does considerable business, principally or to a large extent with the railroad and its employes, but there are a number of firms who do a considerable business with farmers living in the vicinity. Among the most prominent business houses and men on the east side or in Miami County we would mention : Fink & Bro^, general merchandise ; W. H. Sowers, Postmaster and stationer ; Solomon Urbansky ; J. M. Little & Co., drugs ; E. Baker & Co., grocery ; E. B. Maurer, grocer, and Henry Klinger, agricultural implements.

The corporation is a unit ; that is, there are not two sets of civil offices, and there is but the one post office. Moore was Postmaster in 1869 ; then W. H. Sowers held the office, which was then removed to the East Side, where it has since remained. The first Mayor of Bradford was Peter H. Smith ; Clerk, Ed Davidson ; Marshal, George Doll The present officers of Bradford are J. A. W. Smith, Mayor j M. J. Williamson, Clerk ; H. W. Smith, Marshal ; and the members of the Council are D. J. Smith, John Gettz, and Messrs. Beck, Kinney and J. M. Fink.

The first white settler in the township was Samuel Freeman, who brought his family to Monroe in 1801 ; he located about one mile south of where Tippecanoe now is, and built his cabin soon as possible, occupying a bark hut left by the Indians until he had finished a house of his own. John Freeman, a son of the former, built the first corn-cracker in the township, near the bayou, in 1806.

June 2023	Tornado (EF0)	Ginghamsburg	$30,000	The tornado first touched down on the west side of South Tipp-Cowlesville Road where a detached garage had part of its roof lifted and removed, with concentrated tree damage throughout the rest of the property. Some roofing material was carried across South Tipp-Cowlesville Road into adjacent fields, approximately 200 yards downstream. On the east side of South Tipp-Cowlesville Road, a grove of trees sustained some damage with large branches snapped and broken off. The tornado then continued northeast toward Tipp Canal Road, where it likely lifted on the west side of the road in an open field. Here, trees on the west side of the road in the distance clearly had been snapped and broken off near the top.\|\|The damage was consistent with wind speeds of around 70 mph.
