Although this town was settled and named early, it was not platted until May 20, 1853. The business interests in 1SS0 consisted of one grocery store, a cooper, two blacksmiths, one wngoumaker and a stonemason: one physician attended the ills of the settlers. The general merchandise store Is owned and managed by Klnier Lewis. The two blacksmith shops are run by C. H. Hansel) and Jacob Oglcshee. The population at present is about seventy.
