Lithopolis is the principal town in Bloom township. It has about 500 inhabitants. It was laid out in 181 5 by Frederick Baugher. It was first called Centerville, but in 1836 it was chartered and called Lithopolis. Elias Perry was the first mayor and Isaac Cade the first clerk.
