“The Logan County Courthouse is a historic Second Empire building located on the southeastern corner of Main Street and Columbus Avenue in downtown Bellefontaine, Ohio, United States. Built in 1870 at a cost of $105,398.08, the courthouse was constructed primarily of locally mined sandstone, and it is covered with a mansard roof.”

When this property was proposed for the National Register, someone wrote the case for it: what the building is, and why it matters. That document is a federal record in the public domain. Description of the property

was Alexander Koehler. The two story building has a mansard bay section, is a statue of Justice. The statue is located in the center of the bay, in a deep recess.( The roof was originally Excellent They are arched, and the voussoirs are rusticated.The arch is supported and there is a small balcony supported by stone brackets above the The Logan County Courthouse was constructed of cut stone from of the building is constructed of smooth stone.There is a Fair windows on the second floor is an Ionic entablature. gates are attached to the pilasters.The doors have fanlights, 1870 to 1871.The architect of this Second Empire period structure pieces of slate.Two fancy dormers with oval windows are employed

The Logan County Courthouse is the second such structure Commerce Science losophy Architecture Communications Conservation Engineering county records.
