Statement of significance
Walter Putman, a prominent local businessman and attorney, and as Wilmot's best and only example of Queen Anne style architecture. Walter Putman, born in 1853, was a grandson of Gabriel Putman, one of Wllmot's five over a flour/feed mill In Wllmot, converted it to steam power, and operated it until 1896, completion in 1886 until hls death in 1915.
