June 2025Flash FloodKaffir-Additional thunderstorms slowly moved eastward across the extreme southern Texas Panhandle from late on the fifth into the early morning hours of the sixth. An emergency manager reported water over several roads in and around Tulia including along rural roadways in Swisher County.
June 2025Thunderstorm WindKaffir-A swath of severe winds occurred from approximately seven miles west of Tulia to the town of Tulia. A Texas Tech University West Texas mesonet site near Tulia measured severe wind gusts from 2322 CST through 2324 CST. A peak gust of 81 mph was measured at 2323 CST. Additionally, Farm to Market Road 1424 was impassable due to downed power lines west of Tulia.
April 2013Thunderstorm WindKaffir-The Tulia Police Department reported that four cars were blown off Interstate 27 about six miles north of Tulia. These winds were likely caused by an intense rear flank downdraft to a supercell that would later produce a tornado in Briscoe County. No vehicle damage was reported.
