November 1994HailKnott$5,000There were numerous reports of severe weather in the Permian Basin on the evening of the 19th. Severe thunderstorms moved across Odessa, causing a swath of damage that tore sections of roofs off mobile homes, a church, and a high school, as well as downing many power lines. Other unsecured mobile homes were tumbled by the winds. A 6-ton trailer was overturned in a parking lot, then pushed on its side 30 feet. The damage began near Odessa College and spread east and north 3 to 4 miles. Elsewhere, a wind gust to 60 mph was recorded by the NWS at Midland International Airport, and wind damage was sustained at 8 residences 10 miles east of the airport at 2020 CST. One home near Ackerly lost three-fourths of its roof. The storm that caused that damage then moved into Howard County where main transmission lines were downed along U.S. Highway 87 by strong outflow winds. Dime- to nickel-size hail was reported in Odessa, Midland and near Stanton, with quarter-size hail reported at Knott in Howard County.

March 2004HailKnott-Between midnight CST and sunrise, a series of supercell storms tracked across the southeast Permian Basin. These storms developed along a warm front that slowly moved north through the morning hours, and eventually reached the Interstate 20 corridor. Meanwhile, strong to severe convection continued to produce large hail north of the boundary over the northeast Basin.

September 2004Flash FloodKnott-The Texas Department of Transportation reported flash flooding along several roadways in northwestern Howard County. Between 07:25 and 07:50 CST local officials and public reports indicated that one mile of Farm to Market Road 2230 was inundated by flood waters near the intersection of County Road 50 north of Knott. The public also reported submerged roadways west of Coahoma. Midway Road and South Moss Lake Road were rendered impassable due to high water. Local highway officials closed the roadways shortly afternoon CST.
