Statement of significance

Wolcott, a native of Connecticut and a Revolutionary War veteran, was a pioneer settler of keeper of the Marblehead Lighthouse, the oldest lighthouse in Ohio. The Wolcott House is such western speculator was Epaphrus Bull, whose landholdings in the far northwestern To help settle his western land, Bull enlisted the aid of his friend Benajah Wolcott.
