These are the passages that mention it, exactly as the scans read.

A postoffice was established at Ross Grove at an early day. In 1849 Wheeler Hedges was Postmaster. His receipts for the year were $1.09. It is not probable the office was established before 1848. According to John Wentworth, Moses Bartlett was Postmaster in 1851, George V. Miner in 1853, Charles Davis in 1855. Daring that year H. H. Clark was appointed and removed to its present site at the cross roads. Matthew Nisbit succeeded Clark, and the office was then successively held by J. L. Holmes, John Freetly and Charles Davis. Others held it for short intervals until 18^7, when the incumbent, Asa Demming, was appointed.
