This is a Cape Cod "house and a half" (3/U house) which is typical of the early Cape Cod houses built on this part of the Cape. While changes have been made to modernize the house, it retains its early character. The house is located within the Cape Cod National Seashore. PART I. HISTORICAL INFORMATION A. Physical History: 1. Alterations and additions: The first part of the "ell", added:.in.;l8T9 is now the dining room. The second section of the "ell" that contains the kitchen vas added in about Sometime between and the bay window to the downstairs west bedroom was added. In the 3ast room, the panel to the left of the fireplace apparently replaces the original sash door. A four panel door to the entry hall has been added and the sashes have been replaced. There are double doors into the next room which apparently are original. 2. Attic: Two finished rooms. The east room has a mantel and recessed panel pilasters. The 20" wide mantel may be original.
