By the time rainfall subsided early on the 17th, a 48-hour record total of 4.02 inches of rain had officially fallen at Lubbock's Preston Smith International Airport, with 5.32 inches at Slaton. The record rainfall contributed to the collapse of a business near the intersection of 13th Street and University Avenue around 12:30 CST on the 16th, when rain water accumulated on the structure's flat-roof. No injuries were reported.
