This document was undertaken from October through December, in accordance with the Memorandum of Agreement dated between the City of Norwood, OH, the Ohio SHPO and the Advisory Council on Historic Preservation as a mitigative measure in connection with partial demolition of the plant. Le Blond Machine Tool Company: Dairy Barn HAER No. OH-71-G (Page 2) Located in the north east corner of the site is a rectangular timber frame barn with an asphalt shingle gable roof and two sheet metal ventilators at third points along its ridgeline. The exterior is sheathed in white painted clapboards. Fourteen six- pane windows are evenly spaced down the long sides.
The barn is thirty feet wide and ninety feet long. A large sliding barn door opens on the north gabled end and a smaller door appears on the south west corner. The building has a second floor loft along its entire length arid a wooden stair at the midpoint. It was built in and has no additions. The barn is a remnant of the earlier use of this site as a dairy farm. It has been used from. time to time by the company for storage. R. K.
