The foundation of this building was part of the improvements to the Lawrence Machine Shop yard by Everett Cotton Mills. It was constructed before and has changed over the years. When the original mill was built, Everett Mills was the world's largest cotton mill. Everett Mills figured prominently in Lawrence's Bread & Roses Labor Strike. Description: Building 19 is one story with a basement and consists of square feet. Originally the superstructure was timber, but it was removed. A concrete slab and beam floor supported on interior concrete columns and the old concrete foundation walls was added. The west and south sides of the old foundation story are an unusual flared shape. A new basement floor was added above the older one.
The roof is gypsum concrete planks on steel beams and columns with exterior concrete block and brick walls. On the east side there is a concrete stair and block loading dock, along the access round to an abutter's building. An old foundation wall (from previously demolished Building 22) intersects the building at the southeast comer and there is a small concrete block shed on the north side. History: The foundation was built before most likely by Everett Mills Corp. Thereafter, the superstructure was removed and rebuilt over the years, primarily in The building was used for general storage and oil storage. Except for the foundation, it was built by Bolta Company after and later owned by General Tire & Rubber Co., renamed GenCorp Inc.
