Italianate styling and a slender profile are the hallmark features of this otherwise fairly typical late century dwelling. While the house has undergone numerous changes over the years, including newer siding and the deletion of ornamental features such as its bracketed cornice, it retains its historic profile. The building's primary area of significance rests not with its potential individual eligibility but rather as an element that contributes to the character of this National Register historic district. Description: This is a two-story frame residence that rests atop a low stone foundation and which takes the form of a narrow rectangle. Its crowning feature is a low-pitched hipped roof with broad overhanging eaves.

The cornice may have been bracketed at one time, but any trimwork has been removed and/or covered over by its asbestos shingle siding. The building is unusually narrow, measuring about 16' in width and extending back perhaps A low-pitched hipped roofed front porch wraps around one side of the house, terminating at the broader rear wing. Its simple form and detailing suggests that the porch has been altered. A small two-story projection on the opposite side, lower than the main residence, seems like an addition, perhaps containing bathrooms that were added after the house was erected.

The rear wing extends beyond the front section on both sides and is capped by a shed roof sloping toward the rear with a rather steep pitch such that its front portion extends almost to the top of the second floor. Its unusual roof and width suggest that this rear wing is an early addition. Long narrow double-hung windows accent the exterior. The front porch contains two doorways and there is a rear entrance. The house has a center and a center-rear chimney, both in the main section. The house is in deteriorated condition. History: This building was probably constructed by judging from its styling and materials. From at least through this was listed as the residence of the Wright family. James V. Wright worked as a collector for the Sun, a newspaper.

From this was listed as the residence of Sadie M. Wright, a widow. From it was listed as the home of J. Warren and Mary F. Wright. He was a lawyer. For the next ten years the house was listed as being vacant, perhaps remaining in the same family during that time. Since that time the house has had a variety of tenants.
