This house is significant as part of a row of relatively intact houses along this street that are practically identical and which were probably constructed around the same time, perhaps by a single developer. It retains its basic form, although it is now covered with Insulbrick siding. Description: This T-shaped house rises two stories from a low masonry foundation and has its narrow gable end facing the street. A single broad first floor window is set below a pair of smaller second floor windows, all with one-over-one sash. A slender porch is set along the side and extends back to the slightly projecting lateral gabled wing. The lateral gable roof projects through the opposite side to form an attic gable, although the wing does not project on this other side.

Behind this lateral gable section is a lower one-story rear wing with a gable roof It is a recessed rear porch at its northwest comer. The rear porch has been enclosed in more recent years and the front porch has an altered railing. There is a slender lateral wall chimney near the front of the house. A small attic window faces the street in the front gable. History: This building was constructed in with W. H. Dugdale Plumbing Company serving as the plumbing contractors. The company, whose name appeared in boldface in the city directory of was located at 601 West Main Street, and William H. Dugdale resided at West Pleasant Street. Wilbert R. Bush, listed as the owner in was involved in real estate. In he lived at 331 West Liberty, with Mary P. Bush.

The directories show that he did not reside at the Wiley Avenue residence, so he probably either sold or rented it upon completion. It perhaps was built as part of Bush's real estate business. By this was the residence of Grant and Loe E. Blanton. He worked as a transfer person. In the it was home to Lawrence and Mabel Hunley. He worked as a musician. It has had a variety of owners over the years, all for relatively short periods.
