Little is known about this building, other than it is one of the many row houses that characterize the Beacon Hill Historic District and that are typical of the early nineteenth-century dwellings erected in the city. 1 The David Sears House on Beacon Street, however, is better known. That structure was designed by Alexander Parris in Any relationship between the two Sears's houses remains speculation. Materials: There are field measurements for No. 86 Mount Vernon Street; these are not signed or dated, but were completed during the survey. The delineator noted the property name and its address. 1 Massachusetts Cultural Resource Information System (MACRIS), Inventory No. BOS.6414.
