This building is significant for its contribution to the commercial development of the Steele's Hill-Grafton Hill Historic District; a district which was listed in the National Register of Historic Places in The district is composed mainly of late nineteenth and early twentieth century residential buildings expressed with a mix of architectural styles. For a description of the Steele's Hill-Grafton Hill Historic District, refer to HABS No. OH-2467. Description: This is a low scale, one story, Commercial style building. The asymmetrical six bay main facade has been significantly altered with original display glass inf illed with decorative open tile. The door bay and flanking side windows, at the main facade, are not original to the building.

Plain cornice treatment is surmounted with a low parapet. Several west side window bays exhibit brick infill. Building is asymmetrical in plan with a small one story later addition found at the east side facade. Interior spaces have been significantly altered over the years resulting in the loss of any significant original details. History: The building was originally constructed for the Dayton Motors automobile sales and repair company in The company sold and serviced Ford automobiles. The building housed this company until when they ceased operation. Since the building has housed a variety of land uses which have included an automobile repair business, convertible top installation and repair, television sales and repair, small warehouse for a candy distributor, and storage of appliances.

The small addition was constructed in as an office.
