Built in the vernacular-style Duplex is the second oldest residence remaining on the campus of the Soldiers' National Home. Description: Facing east, the house is a two-and-one-half-story structure. Irregular in plan, the building has a hipped-roofed main block with a hipped cross gable on the front and a gabled rear wing. The front has a coursed ashlar limestone foundation, while the rear wing has a coursed fieldstone foundation. The hipped roof is clad with asbestos shingles. The original 2 wood siding and wood-shingled dormers were covered with asbestos shingles in the early An open, flat-roofed porch extends across the center and left bays of the facade and features a plain fascia, square brick piers and a simple wood balustrade.

At the second floor in the center bay is an inset, screened-in porch with an ornamental balustrade. A smaller hipped-roofed entrance porch with square brick piers was added on the north side and an existing porch was removed f ram the rear when the bu i 1ding was converted to a duplex. The irregularly spaced windows, which have one-over-one wood sash, are single, paired and tripled. A three-car, wood-frame garage (Building stands at the rear of the house. Clad with asbestos shingles, this shed-roofed structure, which dates from features a sliding batten door in the left bay and folding garage doors in the other two bays. History: This structure was built in as the Treasurer's Quarters. In the house was converted to a duplex.

The house has been vacant since the winter of when the main steam line failed.
