This house is the oldest single residence on the campus of the Soldiers' National Home. Description: Facing south, Building 201 is a Gothic Revival-inspired, two- and-one-ha lf-story, frame residence with a coursed ashlar foundation. The structure's massing consists of a front gable and wing with two flat-roofed extensions on the rear. The two- story extension on the northwest side contains a bathroom on each floor, while the one-story extension on the northeast side is a kitchen. The steeply pitched main roof is clad with wood shingles. The original wood siding was covered asbestos shingles in the Open porches with stickwork extend across the wing and on the east side, sheltering transomed doorways. The first-floor windows on the front were enlarged.

The front entrance had a leaded glass transom, now missing. The remaining windows of the main block have simple pedimented lintels and six-over-six sash except for two windows with two- over-two sash under the east porch, and one-over-one sash in the rear additions. Small paired Gothic-arched windows with four-over-four sash and diminutive trusswork accent the gables. Some interior doorways have transoms and four-paneled doors. A two-car, wood-frame garage, Building stands at the rear of the house. Clad with asbestos shingles, this shed-roofed structure, which dates from features paneled and glazed folding garage doors. History: Building 201 was built in for the surgeon. The rear extensions were added by The house has been vacant since the winter of when the main steam line failed.
