One of only two single residences remaining at the Soldiers' National Home, this house is an eclectic composition combining Shingle Style, Queen Anne and Tudor features, but has been altered. Description: Facing west, this two-and-one-half-story residence features multiple front gables and a wrap-around porch with diagonal stickwork. The central entrance is emphasized by a gable in the porch roof with stick ornament resembling half-timbering. In the early the house was covered with asbestos shingles, which are falling off the porch railing, revealing fishscale shingles. The windows vary in size and including single, paired and tripled openings with one-over- one sash. Paired windows recessed within the front gable have diamond pane casement sash.
History: Built in this house was last occupied by the chaplain. The house was vacated when the main steam line failed during the winter of
